Raynet Acquires Flexera's Enterprise Deployment Suite Product and Customer Base
Raynet GmbH, an IT service provider in the areas of software management, software distribution and software packaging, has acquired Flexera Software’s Enterprise Deployment Suite (EDS (News - Alert)) product and customer base.
Raynet is a valued partner of Flexera Software, a provider of strategic application usage management solutions. Flexera acquired EDS, a globally installed system for software deployment in distributed infrastructure environments, as part of its ManageSoft acquisition in 2010.
EDS provides a complete set of tools for software deployment, operating system (OS) deployment, as well as security and patch management. The suite includes four components for deploying, patching and securing applications and operating systems, all built on a common infrastructure that includes IT asset discovery, inventory and software asset management. The Enterprise Deployment Suite client-centric architecture leverages existing IT hardware to speed implementation and reduce costs for mid-sized and large organizations. EDS is installed at approximately 200 enterprise customer sites worldwide.
“With this purchase,” said Ragip Aydin, owner and managing director of Raynet, “we are demonstrating that we are driving our strategy to offer an all-in-one solution for application management.”
RaySuite, Raynet’s flagship product family, is a comprehensive, standardized and configurable process to manage applications from purchase to deployment in enterprise production systems. It provides a set of methods, rules, architectures and automation tools to manage enterprise workflow and various tasks in one common user interface and a central data base. Raynet has engineered more than 200 enterprise projects and many small and medium sized companies have successfully applied its methods and products, resulting in significant cost reduction and increase in productivity and quality.
“Within the unique framework of RaySuite we will invest in EDS to boost functionality and also to provide add-on features addressing new market developments,” said Aydin. “EDS represents an important building block in our strategy to offer application management from one source.”
As a service provider, Raynet is traditionally strong in packaging and virtualization projects and has gained a wealth of experience in planning and deploying hundreds of projects.
“By leveraging this heritage,” said Aydin, “we will listen to the voice of the customer and make product investments in EDS, not only to fulfill the needs of the installed base, but also to fulfill customer requirements for a seamlessly integrated solution with RaySuite.”
Raynet will provide maintenance and support for all existing EDS customers no later than October 2012.
“As we integrate our solutions with leading products in the market, Flexera Software’s strategy is to be agnostic with respect to deployment solutions,” said Steve Schmidt, vice president of Corporate Development at Flexera Software. “Consistent with this strategy, we’re pleased to have partnered with Raynet to protect existing EDS customers and ensure they continue to receive ongoing value from their investment.”
