Flexera Partners to Automate Customer Billing with Zuora's Z-Business

Flexera Software, a provider of Application Usage Management solutions for application producers and enterprises, has partnered with Zuora (News - Alert) to automate customer billing by integrating Z-Business, Zuora’s subscription management platform.

“Zuora is the clear market leader in consumption-based, subscription billing, commerce and finance,” said Mathieu Baissac, vice president of Product management at Flexera Software. “Our combined solutions will allow our customers to offer turnkey, usage-based billing services for their software.”

Officials explained that this partnership will help Flexera customers employing the usage-based software licensing models to automate customer billing. Integration with Z-Business will deliver usage-based billing environments, enabling application providers to automate verification, billing and accounting processes.

Usage-based pricing offers flexible licensing options that are profitable and serve various market segments.

Flexera Software’s compliance management solution helps application producers to pick a software licensing model with strict enforcement and usage-based, “trust-but-verify” features.

Although the firm’s compliance management solution provides the granular usage data required by a billing system for invoicing, the e-commerce infrastructure needed to implement usage-based licensing models is not available.

In such a scenario, the Z-Business solution allows online orders to be taken and processed via credit cards with PCI (News - Alert) compliance by leveraging payment gateways from their applications, said officials.

Together, Flexera Software and Zuora address the top concern of application producers transitioning to usage-based consumption models – monetizing and protecting their intellectual property.”

Flexera compliance management solution is based on FlexNet Licensing and FlexNet Operations On-Demand that form part of the FlexNet Producer Suite. FlexNet Producer Suite includes FlexNet Licensing, FlexNet Operations and FlexNet Connect.

The solution helps application producers maximize software revenue and eliminate revenue leakage through new support of the usage-based, trust-but-verify software licensing models.
